Smit takes second place honours at Senior Tour Qualifying School
Bertus Smit carded a final round 71 at the European Senior Tour Qualifying School but lost in a card play-off to Jimmy Heggarty of Northern Ireland 21  November 2008 - Northern Ireland’s Jimmy Heggarty overturned a seven shot deficit to force a card play-off with South Africa’s Bertus Smit and win the European Senior Tour Qualifying School on Portugal’s Algarve.
